ERYRI (SNOWDONIA)
Natural Beauty at its Best

Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, Wales’ oldest and largest national park, is renowned for its majestic mountain peaks, and all are easily accessible from Siabod View. Hillwalkers are absolutely spoilt for choice with the Glyderau and Carneddau ranges, Moel Siabod, the rugged aspect of Tryfan and the highest peak in Wales and England….Yr Wyddfa (or Snowdon) itself, all dominating the region.
With 15 peaks sitting at over 3,000 feet, which in itself provides many with a unique climbing challenge, there is no doubt that the mountains of Eryri have traditionally provided the biggest draw for visitors to the region.
However, there is also a great deal more to the region…..
As well as the magnificent views the local hills also provide some fantastic secluded lakes and beautiful forests, providing the ultimate in tranquility and nature at its beautiful best.

Over the past decade North Wales has acquired a reputation as the adventure capital of Europe. The explosion in extreme adventure attractions in the local area has been astonishing and has attracted a whole new cross-section of visitor to the area.
The ever-expanding Zip World franchise has multiple locations within easy reach of Siabod View holiday cottage, boasting high velocity zip wire rides, treetop adventures, a forest coaster, underground trampoline park and more. At nearby Dolgarrog Adventure Parc Snowdonia, the headline attraction is the world’s first ever inland surfing lagoon. In addition to these highly acclaimed attractions, there are many other watersports and outdoor pursuits centres within the region.

Eryri (Snowdonia) has long been a popular area for mountain bike enthusiasts, and Siabod View is the perfect location for easy access to many of the most exhilarating trails in the country.
From our base near Betws-y-coed, the famed Marin Trail (Gwydir Forest) and Penmachno trails, are literally minutes away and are open all year long.
A little further afield the Coed-y-Brenin trail centre provides options for riders for all abilities, whilst the nearby Antur Stiniog is a mecca for downhill enthusiasts.

HERITAGE
Culture at its finest
For guests who like their history there are countless National Trust properties and impressive castles within easy reach of the cottage. Bodnant Gardens, Conwy and Caernarfon Castles, and the Victorian resort of Llandudno are amongst the most popular places to visit, whilst for those who enjoy steam railways the Snowdon Mountain Railway, Ffestiniog Railway and Welsh Highland Railway are all within easy reach.
Going back even further in time, a Neolithic (New Stone Age) Burial Chamber is within walking distance of Siabod View, situated in our local village of Capel Garmon, and is well worth a visit. You can find out more information about the burial chamber on the Cadw website.

Breathtaking Natural Beauty

Eryri isn’t just all about the mountains. For those who don’t necessarily have a head for heights there is so much more natural beauty to explore and savour. Siabod View enjoys a location that is surrounded by the most stunning forests, lakes, rivers and waterfalls, that are easily accessible to all.
The Gwydyr Forest encompasses much of our immediate locality, and provides an abundance of walks taking in old lead mines, and the ruins of their once-habited working habitations. Set off for a day exploring the woods and you are bound to come across an unspoilt lake or waterfall and be able to enjoy the sheer tranquility of it all.
Betws-y-coed itself is the meeting point for three major rivers….The Afon Conwy, The Afon Llugwy and The Afon Lledr and these provide beautiful riverside walks as well as some great opportunities for fishing.
